Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 August 2026. Operator: The Gecko Corporation Pty Ltd, ABN 87 079 842 747. Website: https://inflection.cloud. Contact: [email protected].
1. Who we are
The Gecko Corporation Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”) operates Inflection cloud. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the website: published stories, public games, private games sold on Etsy, and these legal pages, served through Cloudflare.
The Site does not provide user accounts, logins, a mobile app, or GPS. Card payment for a custom puzzle is taken by Etsy, not by this Site. To send a story, email [email protected].
2. What we collect
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive the address you use, the message, and any files you attach (for example a story or a photo). We use that to reply and, if you asked us to consider a story, to edit and publish it if we accept it.
Information collected automatically
When you load a page, our host and the third parties named below typically receive your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the page URL, referrer, date and time, and similar technical data. That happens whether or not you have an account (you do not). We do not ask you to create a profile.
Published stories
Stories we publish are public. They may include an author’s name, bio, and photographs the author supplied. Treat anything in a published story as visible worldwide.
Games
Paper Portrait Puzzle, Fallen Angel, Max Mannix Family Holiday, Snake Pit, Fruit Match, and Fruit Memory run in your browser. Playing the public demos does not upload a photo from your device. The artwork is already on this site. Your browser may keep a difficulty choice in the page address (?n=4&l=1 and similar). Fruit Match may keep a name and avatar you choose after a win on this device only, so you can show that the homework is done; that is not sent to us. Snake Pit keeps a running average of your finishes on this device only (to set the next cutoff). If you save a puzzle name and snake avatar after a win, that entry is stored on this site and shown on the public top-ten board for other players. We do not collect an email for the game yet.
Etsy private games
If you buy a custom photo sliding puzzle or a matching game on Etsy, we store the photos and captions you (or Etsy) supplied only to serve your private play URL. That link is unguessable and is not listed on Games or in search. We may also store an order id so we can match the files to the sale. We do not use buyer photos as stock, ads, or other puzzles. Email us to ask for deletion after delivery.
3. Cookies, tags, and advertising
Some pages load third-party scripts that set cookies or similar identifiers. If you do not want advertising or analytics cookies, use your browser settings, a content blocker, or email us.
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, security, and (on some story pages) image delivery. Processes connection data to serve the site.
- Google tag (G-CZM9D912YE) — measurement on all public pages. Some story and home pages also load Google tag GT-5R4N3MW.
- Google AdSense (publisher
ca-pub-2720822760566904) — advertising on many story pages. Google may use cookies and advertising identifiers to show ads, measure them, and build a profile of interests. See Google’s privacy policy and ad settings. - Share button — on stories and games, Share uses your device share sheet when it is available, or copies the page link. That does not send the link through AddToAny.
- AddToAny — extra share icons on many story pages. If you use them, AddToAny and the network you share to (for example Facebook or X) receive the page you shared.
- Vimeo — embedded video on some stories. Vimeo may collect viewing data under its own policy.
We do not sell mailing lists or names. Advertising and analytics partners may collect device and advertising identifiers. Some US state laws treat that as a “sale” or “share” of personal information. If that applies to you, email us and we will take the steps we reasonably can (including pointing you to Google’s opt-outs).
4. How we use information
- To operate, secure, and repair the website.
- To understand which pages are read (via Google’s tag, where it loads).
- To show advertising (where AdSense loads).
- To consider, edit, and publish stories you send by email.
- To publish the Snake Pit top ten when a player chooses to save a puzzle name and avatar.
- To fulfil an Etsy photo-puzzle or matching-game order by creating a private play URL.
- To reply to you and to meet legal duties (for example a court order or the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme).
We do not use this site to run user accounts, process card payments, or track you with a first-party login cookie.
5. Who we disclose information to
We disclose information to the processors named above as needed to run the site; to professional advisers if required; and if the law requires it or we must protect people or the site. If we sell or reorganise the company, site data may transfer to the successor, still under this policy or a replacement we will post here.
Those processors are often outside Australia (including the United States). By using the site you acknowledge that overseas parties may access technical and advertising data under their own laws.
6. Retention
Server and CDN logs are kept only as long as the host and Cloudflare keep them for security and operations. Emails and unpublished submissions are kept while we need them to deal with your request, then deleted or archived with ordinary business email. Published stories remain public until we take them down. Snake Pit top-ten names and avatars stay on the public board until a stronger finish replaces them. Buyer photos and captions for Etsy games stay until you ask us to delete them or we no longer need them to serve the play URL. We cannot erase copies other people have already saved or shared.
7. Security
The public site is static files over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Do not email us information you would not want stored in ordinary email.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, and to correct it. Email [email protected]. We may refuse in the limited cases the Privacy Act allows, and we will say why.
If you are in the EEA or UK you may also have rights to erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. We will handle such requests in line with those laws. If you are in California you may have rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale or share; email us to exercise them.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au.
9. Children
This site is a general-audience magazine of personal stories. It is not directed at children. Some pages carry advertising. Do not send us a story by or about a child unless you are that child’s parent or guardian (or have their authority) and you understand the story may be published. We do not knowingly collect contact details from children for marketing.
10. Other sites
Links, ads, share buttons, and embeds go to other operators. Their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.
11. Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. Material changes will also be noted on the home page for a reasonable time.
